2-way humidification system for cello and double bass
Boveda's 2-way
moisture control technology automatically protects your instrument from
warping, cracks and other damage caused by insufficient humidification
or excessive humidification. Boveda is the only true 2-way humidity
control that adds or removes moisture when needed to maintain a constant
relative humidity of 45 to 55% - the ideal climate for wooden
instruments.
Each Boveda consists of a specially prepared
saturated solution of pure water and natural salts. This saturated
solution is contained in a water vapor permeable "reverse osmosis
membrane". Boveda works on the scientific principle that certain salts
mixed with water regulate the humidity naturally. Boveda's patents
relate to the methods invented to make this scientific principle
portable and practical for the requirements of packaging applications.
Boveda only absorbs and emits cleaned water vapor through its
semi-permeable membrane and does not damage the material through direct
contact.

How to use:
BEFORE USING BOVEDA:
ALWAYS
insert Boveda into a holder before using in your instrument case. The
holder acts as a liquid barrier if a packet is accidentally punctured
and extends the life of your Boveda packets. The patented interior
material allows water vapor to pass through to your instrument. The
exterior is soft, like a polishing cloth, so it doesn’t scratch your
instrument.
DO NOT mix different Boveda RH levels including Boveda B49HA within the same instrument case.
DO NOT
use other humidification products with Boveda in the same case because
they will fight against each other and reduce the efficiency of Boveda.
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS:- Remove the clear overwrap from the packet. (DO NOT OPEN the Boveda itself.)
- Insert one (1) unwrapped Boveda into each pouch of each holder.
- Place in the case anywhere that allows for airflow and prevents puncture when you close the case.
- Close the case's lid. Always keep your instrument case closed when using Boveda.
